Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely visit Ukraine on August 23, where he will meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This would be the Prime Minister’s first visit to Ukraine since its war with Russia.
The visit also comes days after PM Modi visited Russia and met President Vladimir Putin.
Nearly a month ago, PM Modi met Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy.
Earlier this month, while the Prime Minister was on a visit to Russia, both the countries agreed to increase cooperation in various sectors, including nuclear power and shipbuilding.
They also discussed ways to solve payment problems as their leaders met in Moscow on Tuesday.
In Russia, Prime Minister Modi was also conferred Russia’s highest civilian honour, the Order of St Andrew the Apostle award by Putin for exceptional services in promoting bilateral ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Moscow for a two-day visit beginning on July 8, 2024, at the invitation of Putin, for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.
