A fourth case was registered against Prajwal Revanna, who was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on his return to Bengaluru on May 31 and is presently in judicial custody till June 24.
According to the details, the fresh case against Revanna, involving charges of sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation, was registered at the office of the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
The case was registered after Revanna was accused of recording a video call and sharing it with others.Former BJP MLA from Hassan, Preetham Gowda, along with two others, were also named for circulating the image alongside Prajwal.
The case against Revanna was registered under Section 354 ABD of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 66E of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
On Monday, a Bengaluru court remanded Revanna, who was arrested on charges of rape and sexual abuse against several women, to 14 days judicial custody.
As his custody under the SIT which is probing the cases, ended on Monday, he was produced before the magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody till July 8.
Meanwhile, Revanna’s bail application came up before the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, and the court reserved the orders for June 26.
Revanna had earlier been booked in three cases of sexual assault. There are also charges of rape against him. The cases of sexual abuse came to light after pen drives containing explicit videos allegedly involving Revanna were reportedly circulated in Hassan, ahead of Lok Sabha polls there on April 26.
JD(S) suspended him from the party following the cases filed against him.
