Premier League club Manchester United have launched an inquiry into Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview, that was given to British journalist Piers Morgan.

A two-part interview that has shaken the football world for the last week, United were forced to wait till Friday, when the final part of the interview arrived.

In his statements, Ronaldo has taken dig at the club, its owners and former players as well. Ronaldo has accused Manchester United owners – the Glazers family’s of not caring about the team and the players. According to the Portuguese players, since Alex Ferguson left the club, United have been in a limbo and failed to make its facilities better for the players and the club itself.

The 37-year-old, widely considered as one of the greatest football players of all time, took digs at the current coach Erik ten Hag and said that he does not respect him as a manager.

“Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview. We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion,” the club said in a statement on Friday, 18 November.

Manchester United had earlier released an initial statement where they said that they would wait for the full evidence to come out (2-part interview). Their new statement comes almost half a day after Piers Morgan uploaded the second and the final part of the full conversation.

In this video, Ronaldo spoke about the breakdown of his relationship with coach Erik ten Hag during the Tottenham Hotspurs match and about how United did not believe that his daughter was sick during the summer transfer window.

If the football experts from England are to be believed, Ronaldo has played his last for the Red Devils and it is possible that the club choose to terminate his contract.
