Khalistani terrorist group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) on Friday protested against Russia and India at the consulates in New York and Toronto, raising slogans against their stand on the separatist movement.
Since the assassination of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, which Canada has termed a “murder for hire plot based on intelligence tip-off” and India has vehemently denied, several top leaders have visited Russia.
Nijjar was killed by unidentified gunmen outside a gurdwara in Surrey, Canada, on June 18, 2023. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau later admitted that he had not provided India with concrete proof regarding the killing of Nijjar on Canadian soil while testifying before the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions in Ottawa, bolstering India’s claims.
PM Narendra Modi, foreign minister S Jaishankar, defence minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval are among those who have sought support from Russian President Vladimir Putin against Khalistan advocacy in the US, Canada and European Union (EU).
According to sources, Khalistani supporters believe Russian media platforms RT India and Sputnik have started running a global disinformation campaign against Khalistan referendum at the behest of the Modi regime.
India has designated Vinay Kwatra, Indian ambassador to the US, to coordinate with Russian Diplomats. According to sources, Russian agencies have started providing intelligence and logistics to India’s R&AW and NSA against pro-Khalistan Sikhs.
Kwatra is already a target of pro-Khalistan Sikhs in America.
According to sources, irked by the cooperation between the two countries, the Khalistani sympathisers are likely to target Russian consulates and diplomats in America, Canada, Italy, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with demonstrations and rallies.
Top intelligence sources said, “We are in touch with our counterparts about SFJ’s activities. They are projecting themselves as global terrorist, but behaving like street goons.”
News18 had reported how Trudeau recently said that there are supporters of Khalistan in Canada but they do not represent Sikh community as a whole. The Canadian PM’s acknowledgement of Khalistan supporters in the country vindicates India’s stand that Trudeau government is sheltering Khalistani separatists. Trudeau’s remarks came while he was addressing the Indian Canadian diaspora in Ottawa Parliament Hill during Diwali celebrations last week.
