The RSS doesn’t chant “Jai Siya Ram” or “Jai Sita Ram” “because there is not a single woman in their organization”, Rahul Gandhi said in Madhya Pradesh.
“It is not a comfortable gathering because Sita cannot come to their gathering. Women cannot come at all. Sita was thrown out,” he added.
Addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa area, the Congress scion narrated an incident. “A pundit came to me in Madhya Pradesh and said, ‘Rahulji, Lord Ram was an ascetic. He put his whole life in penance. Gandhi ji used to say ‘Hey Ram’. It was his slogan’.
Then the pundit said another slogan – Jai Siya Ram or Jai Sita Jai Ram. Sita and Ram are one and the same. That’s why the slogan is Jai Siya Ram or Jai Sita Ram. It means what Ram did for Sita, went and fought for Sita, we respect the place that should be there for Sita. And the third slogan is Jai Shri Ram, where we praise Lord Ram’.”
“The pandit then told me, ‘You should ask in your speeches why the BJP only says Jai Shri Ram but never Jai Siya Ram, Hey Ram.’ I liked it very much,” Rahul Gandhi added.
“They don’t because the people of the BJP-RSS do not live their lives with the feeling with which Lord Ram lived his life. Because Lord Ram did not do injustice to anyone. He worked to unite society, he gave everyone respect, and he helped everyone. The people of BJP-RSS do not adopt this sentiment, this way of life,” he added.
“I want to tell our RSS friends that they must say Jai Shri Ram. But they should also say Jai Siya Ram and Hey Ram. Say all three and don’t insult Sita ji.”
Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently in Madhya Pradesh and will enter Rajasthan on December 4. This yatra entered the central state on November 23. Rahul Gandhi visited the Omkareshwar and Mahakal temples and offered his prayers.
