Rajasthan doctors are holding a massive rally in Jaipur on Tuesday to protest against the recently passed Right to Health (RTH) Act in the state assembly.
Over 20,000 doctors are expected to participate in the rally, including IMA Haryana unit members.
According to President IMA, DR Anil Malik, “All branches of IMA Haryana have been requested to send delegates on April 4 to Jaipur.
Meanwhile, a series of talks were held between doctors and chief secretary Usha Sharma at her residence from 2 am to 5 am on Tuesday. Principal secretary Akhil Arora and medical education secretary principal secretary T Ravikant were also present at the meeting.
According to sources, the doctors have agreed on three conditions:
1) Only those hospitals who have got help from the government will implement RTH in phase 1. Those who want to implement RTH can go ahead.
2) Hospitals with less than 50 beds will not implement RTH.
3) In future if any amendment has to be made, then two representatives of Indian Medical Association (IMA) will be included in it.
Sources said the doctors may end their protest today evening. However, a few doctors, on the condition of anonymity, have said that they will only end the protest once there is an MoU signed between the government and IMA.
