Shane Warne’s daughter, Brooke, remembered her father on his 1st death anniversary. Back on March 4, 2022, the legendary Warne breathed his last, only a day after former wicketkeeper Rodney Marsh passed away.

Warne passed away at the age of 52 while he was partying with his friends in Thailand. It was learned that the retired Australian spinner suffered from a suspected heart attack.

He was found unresponsive at his villa in Thailand and “despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.” Brooke uploaded a video from her childhood where she can be seen playing with her father. She captioned the video and wrote,

“I love you Dad, I will always remember us this way, laughing & happy. 1 year today, feels like yesterday you were taken but forever since I’ve seen you. I miss your big hugs so much & you telling me everything is okay, life will never be the same without you Dad, I miss you. Forever our shining star 11h.”

When the news of Warne’s death broke, Brooke was devastated. She dropped a post showing how heartbroken she was.

“Dad my heart it broken, This doesn’t feel real and doesn’t make sense that you are not here with us anymore, it doesn’t feel right, you were taken away too soon and life is so cruel, I will forever cherish our final memories together laughing and joking around with each other.

“We were happy. We were so similar in so many ways and I always use to joke that I got your genes and I use to joke about how much that annoyed me!! Well now I couldn’t be happier and prouder that I have your genes and I was lucky and will forever be, so proud to call you my dad. I love you to infinity and back and I will miss you forever,” wrote Brooke last year.

Warne retired from international cricket as one of the greatest spinners to have played the game. In 145 Tests, Warne picked up 708 wickets with 37 five-wicket hauls and 10 10-wicket hauls. Warne also captained Rajasthan Royals (RR) to victory in the 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL).
