Suryakumar Yadav elated with Virat Kohli’s appreciation post after 112 not out vs Sri Lanka

Suryakumar Yadav was absolutely over the moon after seeing Virat Kohli’s appreciation post for him on Instagram. On Saturday, January 7.

Sri Lanka unleashed hell on the Sri Lankan bowlers after scoring an unbeaten 51-ball 112 with seven fours and nine sixes at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

On the back of Suryakumar’s knock, India went on to win the match by 91 runs. Yadav became the Player of the Match as India claimed the three-match series 2-1. The 32-year-old also became the second Indian batter to score three or more hundreds in T20Is after Rohit Sharma.

Yadav also became the fastest in terms of balls faced to reach 1500 runs in T20Is. He also became the only batter to reach the landmark with a strike-rate of over 150. Suryakumar, in the meantime, checked out all the social media posts after the third T20I ended.

After he saw Kohli’s post, he was elated. He replied to Kohli and wrote, ‘Bhauuuu, bahut saara pyaar (brother, loads of love) See you soon.”

The Delhi-born Kohli didn’t play in the T20I series, but is set to return for the three-match ODI series, which starts on Tuesday, December 10.

During this while, the Mumbai-born Suryakumar also poked fun at Yuzvendra Chahal, calling the leg-spinner his batting coach.

While Suryakumar was leaving Rajkot, the fans cheered their lungs out for him. The fans also didn’t miss out on clicking pictures with him after the end of the game.

Last year, Suryakumar became the only Indian batter to score over 1000 runs in a calendar year. He was also one of their star batters in the T20 World Cup where India failed to go beyond the semis after losing to England, who became champions for the second time after 2010.
