Telangana Muslim man insults saffron flag in reel, thrashed, paraded naked

A Muslim man in Telangana’s Sangareddy was beaten and paraded naked by a mob after he uploaded a reel insulting the bhagwa or saffron flag.

In the reel, the Muslim youngster is seen inserting the saffron flag, with the Hindu religious symbol ‘Om’ marked on it, inside his pants in an insulting manner.

Enraged by the reel, people in a village in Medak district found him and beat him. Some videos showed the mob chanting Jai Shri Ram and beating the Muslim youngster, parading him naked and trying to put his private parts on fire.

A complaint was filed by the villagers against the man for hurting the sentiments of Hindus. He was booked by police under IPC sections 153(a), 295-A, 505(2).

The Muslim youngster also lodged a complaint against the villagers for assaulting him. On this, the police have booked locals under IPC sections 341, 323, 505(2), and 506.

Further investigation is underway.
