Terror modules busted in J&K, 4 Lashkar-e-Taiba associates arrested

Bandipora police busted two terror modules and arrested four terror associates of the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. Police said the accused were coordinating logistics and transportation for the terrorists in the district.

After receiving specific inputs, security forces found three terror associates in the Ashtango area of Bandipora. The three were identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat, Sajad Ahmad Mir and Irfan Ahmad Jan.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested a terror associate at a checkpost in Rakh Hajin. The associate was identified as Irfan Aziz Bhat. A Chinese grenade was also recovered from his possession.

Aziz Bhat was allegedly in touch with Pakistan-based terrorist Umer Lala and the deceased terrorist from Hajin, Saleem Parray. Aziz Bhat, along with his associates in Pakistan, was allegedly planning to cause a terror incident in the Hajin area.

In both cases, cognizance of the arrested men was taken in the Bandipora and Hajin police stations under relevant sections of law. Police said further investigations are being held.
