Ever since billionaire Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, he has been bringing new rules and features almost everyday.
Twitter users will now be able to see how their tweet is performing as the platform is rolling out a new ‘view count’ feature. The feature is similar to platforms like YouTube that shows how many times a video has been viewed. Previously, only users who tweeted counted the views by using tweet analytics.
Taking to Twitter, CEO Elon Musk wrote, “Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen! This is normal for video.” (sic)
Musk also said that this feature shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem.
He wrote, “Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are public actions.” (sic).
On December 1, Musk promised the feature would be coming for “all tweets, just as view count is shown for all videos”.
