Vicky Vidya Ka…box office day 2: Triptii-Rajkummar’s film stays ahead of Jigra

Director Raaj Shaandilya’s slapstick comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video struggled to maintain momentum at the box office after a decent opening.

Starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, the film saw modest growth of less than 30 per cent on its second day. The film earned Rs 6.75 crore on the second day in India, and the Dussehra holiday is now expected to grow its business over the weekend.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video earned Rs 5.25 crore on the opening day, surpassing Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, which was released on the same day. However, on Saturday, the gap narrowed as Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video earned Rs 6.75 crore, while Jigra saw a boost in its collections to net Rs 6.50 crore, as per reports by Sacknilk.

The Triptii and Rajkummar Rao starrer stands at Rs 12 crore total.

Both Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have a three-week window to perform well at the box office. To succeed during this period, both films must generate more positive word-of-mouth on social media and among audiences.
