Having sealed the five-match T20I series on Saturday, India are set to play one final T20I game on the tour of Zimbabwe.
Shubman Gill’s new India have already clinched the series by taking an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the series and will look to hand over chances to the players who have not had a lot of batting time so far.
India outplayed Zimbabwe in the fourth T20I of the series, dominating the hosts with both bat and ball. Shubman’s side will try to repeat the same, albeit this is a dead rubber. One can expect the likes of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to bat higher up the order. It will be a wasted opportunity if Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal come out to open the innings once again.
Shubman has hit back-to-back fifties on this tour, playing the anchor’s role and Jaiswal has just hit a terrific 93*, leading India’s charge in the 4th game. The likes of Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson have not had a lot of opportunities to bat and one can ideally expect that to happen in the final T20I game.
ZIM vs IND: Team News
India have no injuries in their camp at the moment. Shubman was asked about the changes in the side for the final T20I of the series. The captain remained coy and said that he would speak to the coach and let everyone know at the toss in case there were any changes.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe would be ruing not putting up a big total in what looked like a belter of a batting track in Harare. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has criticized his batters again and again and hopes that they will come out with a fearless approach in the final T20I, given that it is a dead rubber.
ZIM vs IND: WHEN AND WHERE TO WATCH?
Harare Sports Club in Harare will host the final T20I. The match will get underway at 1 pm local time and 4:30 pm IST.
ZIM vs IND: PITCH AND WEATHER CONDITIONS?
The fourth T20I match had the best batting track seen in the series so far. One can only hope that it remains the same. There are no chance of rainfall in Harare on Sunday.
